Making mustard is easy! It does take 3-4 days before you can use it, but the preparation uses only 5 ingredients and is done quickly. If you taste before 3-4 days or if your mustard seeds or powder are stronger than most, taste may be bitter or too spicy. This recipe includes mustard powder for a smoother texture.

4 tbs yellow or black mustard seed (black seeds are spicier)

1/2 cup ground mustard powder

1 1/2 tbs sea salt

1/3 cup water

6 tbs apple cider vinegar

Crush about half of the mustard seeds in a mortar/pestle and then combine with mustard powder in a mixing bowl. Combine wet ingredients and stir into dry. Mixture will be soupy, but texture will firm in time. Cover and place in refrigerator for 3-4 days.
